The work I’ve learned from so far.

I began in software engineering and gradually moved into work spanning production platforms, networks and migrations. The common thread is still the same: understand how something works, find the problem and help make the solution real.

Each role changed the kind of problem I was solving.

The technical foundation has stayed with me as the systems became larger and the work involved more teams, customers and moving parts.

Swisscom

DevOps Engineer III

Now

I work across production platforms, enterprise networking and software engineering. Much of the job is understanding where a problem crosses system or team boundaries and helping move the answer into production.

  • I took over delivery work for a next-generation virtual routing platform during its later development stage and helped bring the remaining work into production.
  • I worked on migration planning, production readiness, cutover support and platform improvements for a programme spanning more than 1,500 enterprise customers.
  • I kept improving a business-critical migration platform; the changes contributed to an approximately 40% cost reduction.
  • I helped shape a major enterprise multi-domain service orchestration proposal and joined a five-day technical dialogue with the customer on behalf of Swisscom.
  • I worked with internal engineering teams and external technology vendors to trace cross-system problems through investigation and resolution.
  • I turned broad epics into concrete work, helped with prioritisation and rollout planning, and explained technical progress to engineering and business stakeholders.
  • I built MCP servers and LLM integrations to explore practical improvements to internal engineering workflows.

DevOps Engineer II

This was where I learned how software behaves once people depend on it in production, working across Java services, automation, enterprise networking and migration tooling.

  • I developed and maintained production software using Java, Spring and event-driven technologies.
  • I worked on migration tooling and automation for enterprise network services.
  • I took part in production support, troubleshooting and on-call work across software and infrastructure boundaries.
  • I improved automated workflows as engineering moved from Jenkins towards GitLab CI.
  • I worked across implementation, backlog refinement and technical communication in an agile team.

Software Engineer Intern

I worked in medical technology, where software, electrical, mechanical and systems engineering all had to fit together.

  • I improved test protocols and contributed to engineering reviews and technical documentation.
  • I evaluated technology for medical contrast-injection systems, including machine-learning-assisted categorisation and patient-distress monitoring concepts.
  • I contributed to project-management tooling in a regulated, cross-disciplinary engineering setting.

I combined photogrammetry and virtual modelling with client conversations, technology evaluation and a project scope that changed as we learned more.

Education

I like having something new to learn.
